Overview

Gamal's Safari Lodge is a six acre oasis of beauty and calm on the banks of a sea inlet surrounded by cashew forest and jungle in Guinea-Bissau, West Africa. It is a new development of six luxury chalets and a restaurant, serving as a base for hunting and fishing led by owner Gamal Charaf.

A professional hunter and angler for 45 years, Gamal has lived in Guinea-Bissau for the past 25 years, he is fluent in English, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese and French.

Gamal's Safari Lodge is located in the Canchungo sector of the Cacheu region along the banks of the Rio Baboque, about 50kms from the capital Bissau. The area can truly be described as a hunting and fishing nirvana. World record sized Tarpon, Myriad shoals of Jacks, Snappers, Groupers, Cobia, massive Rays, Barracuda, Leerfish, Butterfish and Ladyfish. The angling season is all year round.

Hunting season is from November 1st until May 31st. The area is teeming with birdlife and includes: Guinea Fowl; Pigeons; Green Pigeons; Turtle Doves; Doves; Partridges; Pygmy Geese; Egyptian Geese; Greylags Geese and White Faced Whistling Duck. Animals include Warthogs; Deer; Antelopes and Wild Boar.
