Buffalo Trails Safaris was founded in 2005 by Jannie Meyer. Jannie grew up on Eaglemont Ranch in the Lowveld of Zimbabwe, where his father J P S Meyer operated hunting safaris. Whenever the opportunity arose, Jannie eagerly accompanied his father on hunts and some of our clients today still remember Jannie as a young boy.

After gaining his full Professional Hunters License in 2003 and working with his father for a few years, Jannie wanted to carve his own identity within the industry. He decided to go it alone, and in 2005 Buffalo Trails Safaris began operating.

Buffalo Trails Safaris is passionate about hunting, conservation and creating memories of a lifetime for all of their clients. In such a competitive environment it continues to go from strength to strength through the commitment of its team to ethical hunting and the loyalty of previous clients who return time after time.

We specialize in high quality hunts in some of the best hunting areas of Zimbabwe – notably Gonarezhou, which is world renowned for the quality of its trophy elephant bulls, and the Nyakasanga Concession which is regarded as one of the premier hunting areas in Zimbabwe.
