Overview
Big Game Hunting New Zealand is a family run free range hunting outfit. We design and cater expedition hunts for the adventure and experience minded hunter where the story of hunt is as valued as the animal. We are based in the heart of the South Island, a small town called Twizel close to the first liberation of Tahr over 100 years ago at Mt Cook National Park.
We offer free range wilderness / expedition style hunts very similar to an American western elk hunt or a moose hunt in the Yukon. We either hike, 4×4 or helicopter into a remote hunting area and set up a base camp via wall tent, back pack tent or back country hut. You will then hunt for Red Stag, Bull Tahr or Chamois. This is the real deal hunt and adventure.
