Afri-Hype Parks and Wildlife
Overview
Afri-Hype Parks and Wildlife operates and manages Nyakasanga Safari Area, a vast landscape measuring 1014km² within Hurungwe Safari Area.
Big game sport hunting remains a predominant activity in Nyakasanga Safari Area, however, non consumptive activities such as fishing, canoeing along the Zambezi and game viewing extending into Mana Pools are favorites during the off hunting season.
The area is host to very large herds of buffalo and elephant and produces high quality trophies for both species, especially buffalo. Buffalo hunting is much easier later in the season as the larger herds tend to break up into smaller herds resulting in increased spoor sightings. For elephant there is a significant chance of fifty pounders or more. Migratory elephant bulls from surrounding areas such as Mana Pools National Park, which is a strictly non hunting area, adds the possibility of harvesting a bull of 70 pounds or more.
The location of Nyakasanga Safari Area on the Zambezi River provides the advantage of good trophy quality hippos and crocodiles. The same also frequent the many pans dotted around the concession in the early part of the season.
For fishing enthusiasts, the Nyakasanga River frontage has been and still is a popular fishing spot, an added bonus is that motorboats are permitted on this section of the river (unlike in Mana Pools National Park where conservation rules prohibit their use).
